Professor Jiang Wenying of the University of Queensland was Appointed as the Distinguished Professor of Our School


On the afternoon of October 29th, the school of foreign languages held the appointment ceremony in the conference room 222 of the arts building, and formally invited professor Jiang Wenying from the University of Queensland, Australia, as the distinguished professor of Qilu University of Technology. Liu Mengde, deputy head of the school, attended the appointment ceremony and presented a certificate to Jiang Wenying. Members of the leadership team of the school of foreign languages attended the appointment ceremony.

 Liu Mengde warmly welcomed Jiang Wenying's arrival and briefly introduced the talent policy and the current situation of the integration of science and education of the school (SDAS). He hoped that the school of foreign languages would actively cooperate with professor Jiang Wenying and actively carry out work in discipline construction, undergraduate teaching, postgraduate education, scientific research team building and other aspects. Later, Jiang Wenying discussed her ideas on the development of English subject, postgraduate training and scientific research cooperation based on her own study and research experience.

Next, Jiang Wenying will teach intercultural communication, second language acquisition, English reading and other courses for English majors and translation majors. In the future, the school will further expand exchanges and cooperation with foreign experts, provide more platforms for teachers and students to exchange and learn, and continuously improve the teaching and research level of teachers and the quality of student training.

Jiang Wenying, director of the Chinese department at the University of Queensland, Australia, holds a PhD in applied linguistics. She has taught at the University of Alberta in Canada and the University of Western Australia in Australia. The main research areas are second language acquisition, second language teaching and cross-cultural communication. She has published more than 20 academic papers in International core journals and served as the reviewer of Applied Linguistics, International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism and Journal of Language, Culture and Curriculum.
