Qi Yi, Professor of Texas Southern University, USA, was Hired as a Distinguished Professor at Qilu University of Technology (SDAS)

 

 

On the afternoon of May 31, the school held an appointment ceremony in Room 356 of the Office Building, and officially hired Professor Qi Yi of Texas Southern University as the “Distinguished Professor” of Qilu University of Technology. Vice President Ren Min attended the appointment ceremony and issued a certificate for the company. The Director of the Personnel Department, Ge Lingluan, the Dean of the School of Science, Cha Kewen, and the members of the leadership team of the College attended the appointment ceremony.

   Ren Min expressed his warm welcome to the arrival of Qi Yi. He briefly introduced the talent policy and the development of science and education at Qilu University of Technology (SDAS). He hoped that the Faculty of Science would actively cooperate with Prof. Qi in discipline construction, postgraduate education, research team formation, etc. The party is actively working. Cha Kewen introduced the basic situation of Qi Yi and the cooperation and exchange between our teachers and Texas Southern University. Qi Yi introduced some ideas on scientific research cooperation, young teachers' visits, postgraduate training, etc., and discussed the deep cooperation between Qilu University of Technology and Texas Southern University, and reached a preliminary intention.

   Professor Qi Yi was hired by our school to promote the connotation construction of mathematics and statistics, improve the level of teachers' research, and enhance the exchange and cooperation between Qilu University of Technology (SDAS) and Texas Southern University.

  Introduction of Qi Yi:

Professor Qi Yi is currently the head of the Department of Transportation Engineering at Texas Southern University. She is master of Probability Theory and Mathematical in East China Normal University in 1999 and graduated from the New York Institute of Technology in 2002 with a Ph.D. degree in transportation. Then Qi Yi joined the University of Virginia Transportation Engineering Postdoctoral Mobile Station for research work. Qi Yi has been a teacher since 2005. Dr. Qi Yi has conducted a number of cutting-edge research in urban transportation planning, transportation modeling, highway safety analysis, transportation air quality and intelligent transportation systems. In recent years, Qi Yi has hosted more than 20 key projects funded by the US Department of Transportation (USDOT), Federal Highway Management (FHWA), and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Qi Yi has extensive project organization and management experience. Based on these research works, Dr. Qi Yi published more than 30 academic papers in the Science Citation Index (SCI) journals, numerous conference papers and more than 30 research reports. In addition, Professor Yan also participated as a principal investigator in a number of research projects funded by the State Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration on advanced incident management and accident prevention. In these research projects, Dr. Qi developed real-time event probability models and event delay prediction models, which were described her published journal papers. Based on these works, Dr. Qi Yi wrote a monograph on the development of event delay models and evaluation of event management strategies, which was published by the famous Elsevier Press.
