    From May 27 to 31, Wu Yantao, Party Secretary of Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences), led a delegation to visit Hong Kong and Macao. During his stay in Hong Kong, Wu Yantao attended the 2024 Lu-Hong Kong Technology Innovation Cooperation Conference and a series of activities, and visited the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Baptist University, Education University of Hong Kong and other universities; During his stay in Macao, Wu Yantao visited City University of Macau.

  On the morning of the 28th, the delegation attended the 2024 Lu-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Conference held in Hong Kong. Wu Yantao and Academician CAI Zongwei, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Environmental and Biological Analysis of Hong Kong Baptist University, jointly inaugurated the Shandong - Hong Kong Joint Laboratory of Environmental and Biological Sciences led by the university. Witnessed by Lin Wu, secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Wu Yantao signed a project cooperation agreement with Dong Cheng, associate Vice president of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The Faculty of Computing and the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) signed a contract to jointly build the Joint Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Information Security project.

    On the morning of the 30th, the 2024 Lu-Hong Kong Young Scientists Forum, organized by the University and the Lu-Hong Kong-Macao Universities and Institutes Innovation Alliance, was held in Hong Kong. Sun Haisheng, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province, Gong Wendong, Vice Minister of the Organization Department of the Provincial Party Committee, representatives of Hong Kong universities and young experts from the two places attended the forum. Gong Wendong delivered a speech and the opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Wu Yantao.

  During his visit to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Wu Yantao had discussions with the university's Vice President Zhao Ruheng, Associate Vice President Wang Zuankai and other leaders and experts. During his visit to Hong Kong Baptist University, Wu Yantao visited the State Key Laboratory of Environmental and Biological Analysis, and had in-depth exchanges with Academician CAI Zongwei on the joint development of biomass spectrometry technology and related equipment development. During his visit to Education University of Hong Kong, Ng and Vice President Chan Chi-heen agreed to strengthen the links and collaboration between the two universities through diversified academic and research activities.

During his visit to City University of Macau, Vice President Zhou Wanlei warmly received Wu Yantao and his delegation. Wu Yantao expressed appreciation for the university's educational philosophy and typical practices in inheriting and carrying forward outstanding traditional Chinese culture. The two sides discussed the feasibility of joint training of high-end talents and resource sharing in the field of artificial intelligence in the future.

 Wu Yantao also visited the doctoral students jointly trained by the two universities and listened to their learning reports. Wu Yantao said that Lu-Ao is a family, and the two places are heart to heart, and hoped that they would tell the Shandong story well in Australia and be a bridge and bond connecting Lu-Ao culture, education and scientific research.Department of International Cooperation, Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Department of Computing, high-tech Industry (pilot) base of the relevant responsible personnel accompanied the visit.
