On September 4, Salaheldin Mohamed Elarabi Abakar, President of the University of Gezira in Sudan, and Mohamd Ali Oma, Vice President of the University of Mogadishu in Somalia, visited the University during the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit. Wu Yantao, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, and Cao Maoyong, Vice President of the University, met with the guests.
Wu Yantao warmly welcomed the two principals on behalf of the school. He briefly introduced the basic situation of the university (school), focusing on the internationalization of the university and the cooperation with African universities. The program aims to select 50 universities from China and Africa to participate in joint projects. In May, our University was selected as one of the 50 Chinese universities in the "Hundred-University Cooperation Plan between China and Africa", and the University of Gezira in Sudan and the University of Mogadishu in Somalia were selected as African universities. This year also coincides with the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, which is an important occasion to be commemorated. He stressed that the visit of the two schools is not only a simple academic exchange, but also a vivid manifestation of China-Africa cooperation and friendship. This visit can serve as an opportunity to deepen cooperation between the two sides. It is hoped that the three schools can share resources and complement each other's advantages in education, scientific research and other fields in the future, further promote cultural exchanges and friendly relations between the two countries, and jointly commit to opening a new chapter in China-Africa educational cooperation.
