President Duan Peiyong attended a series of activities of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation
From September 4 to 6, the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation was grandly held in Beijing. President Duan Peiyong was invited to attend the annual meeting of the China-Africa University Union Exchange Mechanism and the China-Africa-UNESCO Dialogue on Education and Cultural Heritage Protection Cooperation.
On September 5, the annual meeting of the China-Africa University Union exchange mechanism was held in Beijing. Under the witness of Wu Yan, Vice Minister of Education, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Angola, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Technological Innovation of Congo (Brazzaville), Minister of Technology and Higher Education of Sierra Leone and Vice President of the Chinese Association of Higher Education, Duan Peiyong, on behalf of the University (School), signed the Memorandum of Cooperation between Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences) and the University of Mogadishu with Mohamed Ali Omar, Vice President of the University of Mogadishu, Somalia. The theme of this annual conference is "Development of China-Africa Higher Education Cooperation in the Digital Age", aiming to help build a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future through higher education cooperation. Representatives of 35 universities from 19 African countries, including Tanzania, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Ghana, Uganda, Rwanda, Cameroon, Malawi, Benin, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mozambique and Somalia, and more than 50 representatives of Chinese universities attended the conference.
On September 6, the China-Africa-UNESCO Cooperation Dialogue on Education and Cultural Heritage Protection was held in Beijing. Ding Xuexiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of The State Council, attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng delivered a keynote speech at the meeting. Duan Peiyong was invited to attend the event.
In recent years, General Secretary Xi Jinping has put forward a series of major initiatives, including the implementation of the China-Africa people-to-people and cultural Cooperation plan, capacity building initiatives and people-to-people and cultural exchange projects, which have charted the course for China-Africa cooperation in the fields of education and culture and produced fruitful results. As a Chinese university participating in the "China-Africa University Alliance" exchange mechanism and the "China-Africa University 100 University Cooperation Plan", this event will certainly bring new development opportunities for our university in the field of China-Africa cooperation.
