The university held the graduation ceremony of the 2025 class of the brewing engineering major in Sino-foreign cooperative education

On June 16, the graduation ceremony for the 2025 cohort of the Brewing Engineering program at the School of Bioengineering (Sino-New Zealand) was held in the Academic Report Hall of the National Key Laboratory Building. Attending the ceremony were Wu Yantao, Party Secretary of the School ; Liu Yu, Deputy Secretary; Xu Chonghai, Vice President of the School ; John West, Executive President of the Eastern New Zealand Institute of Technology; Sue Blackmore, Dean of the College of Viticulture and Enology; and Crin Russell, Head of the Sino-foreign Cooperative Education Program. Also present were representatives from the Office of the School , the International Cooperation Office, and the School of Bioengineering, as well as the 2025 graduates, their parents, and faculty members.

Before the graduation ceremony, Wu Yantao warmly met with the delegation from the Eastern New Zealand Institute of Technology and welcomed John West and his team. He fondly recalled the journey and significant achievements in the joint program in Brewing Engineering between the two institutions. Wu expressed gratitude for EITs long-term support and investment in faculty development. He hoped that both sides would deepen their cooperation in talent cultivation, platform construction, and scientific innovation, expanding the scope of collaboration to achieve mutual benefits and coordinated development.
John West thanked Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences) for its warm reception and spoke highly of the high-quality training results of the project graduates. He looked forward to in-depth cooperation between the two universities in more fields and providing a broader development platform for students from both universities.

Wu Yantao presented certificates of honor to outstanding graduates.

John West delivered a speech on behalf of the new side. He spoke highly of the close cooperation and deep friendship between the two universities in the field of wine engineering education, praised the professional quality and international vision shown by the graduates, and expected them to become ambassadors of wine culture and technology exchanges between China and New Zealand.

Liu Yu delivered a speech on behalf of the university . He congratulated the students who had successfully completed their studies, and encouraged the graduates to have a family and country in mind, cultivate their major, and bravely shoulder the responsibility of high-quality development of the brewing industry in the era.

Xu Chonghai read out the decision on commending outstanding graduates of the 2025 Brewing Engineering major.
Then, Su Blackmore and Kline Russell spoke respectively, sharing their touching experiences of witnessing the growth of students, and encouraging graduates to uphold the scientific spirit and innovative thinking, and continue to explore the infinite mysteries of their major in the future career.
Qu Zexiao, a representative of the students, spoke with sincere words, expressing her gratitude for the careful cultivation of the two schools and her reluctance to part with her classmates. She said that she would carry the expectations of her Alma mater and the ingenuity of "brewer" in writing a chapter of struggle in the vast world.
At the end of the ceremony, all the leaders, teachers, students and parents took a group photo, which fixed the joy of harvest, deep friendship and vision for the future in this significant summer. The graduates, with the blessing of their Alma mater and the expectation of teachers, are about to embark on a new journey.
