Wu Yantao attended the unveiling and launching ceremony of the China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Center and delivered a key speech

  On September 4th, the center was officially launched in Qingdao. Vice Minister of Science and Technology Chen Jiachang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Tursunov Erkinovich, Vice Governor of Shandong Province Song Junji, Mayor of Qingdao Ren Gang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Provincial Government Liu Taiguang, Secretary of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Director Sun Haisheng, and other domestic and foreign guests attended the event. The event was hosted by Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology Dai Gang. Party Secretary of the University (Institute) Wu Yantao attended the event and delivered an important speech.

  The SCO Innovation and Science Center is structured in a "center + domestic linkage hub + international cooperation node" framework, and is implementing key tasks such as scientific and cultural exchanges, joint technological research and development, international technology transfer and transformation, and the construction of high-standard international think tanks. The university (institute) serves as the hub of the center's innovation cooperation section, responsible for linking with first-class universities and research institutions at home and abroad, and promoting innovation cooperation with universities and research institutions of the SCO member states.

  Wu Yuantao systematically presented the situation of the university's (institute's) international scientific and technological cooperation. He pointed out that in recent years, the university (institute) has seized the strategic opportunity of "integration of industry and education, and integration of science and education", comprehensively promoting the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talent, and insisting on taking an international and open path. It has continuously deepened practical cooperation with universities and research institutions in the SCO countries, achieving positive results. Cooperation with the SCO countries has been and will continue to be a vivid manifestation and the best choice of the university's (institute's) international scientific and technological cooperation in the past, present and future.

  The event announced ten key science and technology cooperation projects. Three projects jointly carried out by the School (Institute) of Optics and Photonics, the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the School of Control Science of our university (institute) with universities and research institutions from other countries of the SCO (such as the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, and the National Research Center of Egypt) were officially launched at the event.

  Next, the university (institute) will focus on key industrial sectors such as new-generation information technology, high-end equipment, new energy, new materials, modern marine industry, and modern efficient agriculture. It will conduct basic research and applied research around key scientific issues and common technical bottlenecks. Through bilateral (multi-party) joint research and development, it will promote the popularization and application of a number of advanced and applicable technological achievements in domestic and international demonstrations; it will promote the establishment of international joint laboratories with universities and research institutions of the SCO member states, support the establishment of R&D centers by universities and research institutions of the SCO member states and foreign-funded enterprises in China, and facilitate the implementation of international cooperation projects; it will promote the construction of international cooperation think tanks, conduct country and region studies, and help the SCO play a greater role in international affairs, making positive contributions to regional stability, economic development and cultural exchanges.

  Liu Yu, the deputy secretary of the school (institute) committee, Ma Wencai and Ren Min, the deputy chief of the school (institute) administrative office, Fang Keluo, the head of the school (institute) discipline inspection and supervision team and the school (institute) discipline secretary, Qiao Bingwu, Xu Chonghai, Ji Xingxiang and other school (institute) leaders, also, based on their work arrangements, respectively entered the classrooms of "Inorganic Synthetic Chemistry", "Football", "Performance Management", "Principles of Food Engineering", "Introduction to Civil Engineering", "Accounting", "Financial Services Etiquette", "Introduction to Mao Zedong Thought and the Theory System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics", "Basic Principles of Marxism", "Linear Algebra I", "Complex Functions and Integral Transformations", etc., to conduct on-site inspections of the teaching situation of the teachers, the listening status of the students, the operation status of the teaching equipment, and the organization and management of the classroom. They also fully affirmed the teachers' conscientious and responsible teaching attitude, the innovative classroom design, and the energetic and positive mental state of the students.

  The administrative department and various teaching units have made a great deal of meticulous preparations for the start of the new semester. The administrative and leadership members of each teaching unit, as well as the experts of the supervision team, simultaneously went to the front-line classrooms to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the teaching situation on the first day of the new semester. In the classrooms, the teachers were full of energy and had well-prepared lessons, while the students listened attentively and actively participated in the interaction. The teaching order was well-organized and orderly.
