Qilu University of Technology（SDAS）Approved to Establish a National "Belt and Road" Joint Laboratory
Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology issued the "Notice on Initiating the Construction of the Fifth Batch of 'Belt and Road' Joint Laboratories." The "China-Belarus Joint Laboratory for Intelligent Sensing in Extreme Environments under the 'Belt and Road' Initiative," led by Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences) in its application, has been officially approved. This marks a significant advancement for the Qilu University of Technology（SDAS）in serving China's major diplomatic strategy and assisting Shandong Province in building a high-level new hub for opening up to the outside world. It also represents another major breakthrough in the construction of national high-level scientific and technological innovation platforms, following its leading role in securing approval for two national key laboratories.
This joint laboratory aims to strengthen scientific and technological innovation cooperation with universities and research institutes in "Belt and Road" countries such as Belarus. It seeks to jointly tap into the potential of innovation-driven development and share experiences in promoting development through science and technology. Focusing on intelligent sensing technologies, core devices, and key equipment in extreme environments such as deep underground, deep sea, and deep space, the laboratory is set to produce high-level scientific and technological achievements. It will establish a full-chain, cross-regional international scientific and technological innovation cooperation system characterized by "joint technology research and development, shared achievements, co-cultivation of talent, and win-win industrial outcomes."
The successful approval of the joint laboratory is a milestone in the ongoing efforts of Qilu University of Technology（SDAS）to deepen international scientific and technological cooperation and advance the construction of national high-level scientific research platforms. In the next step, the Qilu University of Technology（SDAS）will strictly adhere to the requirements of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the provincial party committee and government. Guided by national strategic task objectives, it will shoulder national responsibilities, undertake national missions, serve high-level self-reliance in science and technology, and promote the construction of the laboratory with high standards and quality.
