University Participates in the 2026 Shandong Provincial Foreign Experts Spring Festival Reception
On January 27th, the 2026 Shandong Provincial Foreign Experts Spring Festival Reception, hosted by the Shandong Provincial Department of Science and Technology (Shandong Provincial Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs), was held in Jinan. Liu Yu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the University , attended the event, accompanied by representatives of foreign experts and international students from the University, as well as relevant foreign experts and researchers from the International Cooperation Office, School of Computing, School of Biology, School of Energy, and Heze Campus (Branch).
Prior to the commencement of the event, Liu Yu engaged in cordial exchanges with the foreign experts and international students of the University attending the reception, extending New Year greetings and sincere blessings to all. He emphasized that foreign experts constitute a vital force for the University in scientific and technological innovation and international exchanges. He expressed the hope that by taking the Spring Festival Reception as an opportunity, the University will further deepen cultural and academic cooperation, continuously foster an open and inclusive international educational environment, and inject new impetus into advancing high-level foreign exchanges and cooperation as well as enhancing the University ’s international influence.
This reception was co-hosted by international students of the University including Usama. During the event, Alexander Raikov, a cooperative expert from the School of Computing and recipient of the Chinese Government Friendship Award, was invited to deliver a speech. He shared his experiences in conducting scientific research cooperation in Shandong, spoke highly of the sound scientific research environment and pragmatic and efficient international cooperation mechanism in Shandong, particularly at the University, and expressed his willingness to continue deepening cooperation and jointly contributing to the development of scientific and technological innovation.
The artistic performance session was splendid and fascinating. Five international students from Pakistan at the University presented an enthusiastic Pakistani folk dance, demonstrating the youthful vitality of multicultural integration; cooperative Korean experts from the Universityperformed a traditional Korean fan dance with oriental charm, which won bursts of applause from the audience and fully reflected the vivid practice of cultural exchange and mutual learning between China and foreign countries.
In recent years, the University has continuously intensified efforts in introducing intellectual resources, actively promoted the implementation of foreign expert projects and the construction of high-end talent platforms, and the effectiveness of international scientific and technological cooperation has been increasingly prominent. Up to now, 7 foreign experts of the University have been awarded the "Chinese Government Friendship Award", and foreign experts have played an important role in key technological breakthroughs, discipline construction and young talent cultivation. Moving forward, the Universitywill continue to adhere to the concept of open education, improve the service guarantee system for foreign experts, and promote the in-depth integration of international scientific and technological resources with the high-quality development of the University .
