On September 10, Professor Konstantin S. Novoselov, a 2010 Nobel Prize laureate in Physics and Director of the Institute of Functional Intelligent Materials at the National University of Singapore, visited Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences). He signed a cooperation agreement with the university and was appointed as a distinguished professor. Attending the event were Wang Zhongwei, Second-Level Inspector of the Shandong Provincial Department of Science and Technology; Lü Tingting, Deputy Director of the First Division for Talent Work at the Provincial Organization Department and Second-Level Researcher; Huang Bo, Director of Jinan Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology; Zhou Yuanfeng, Deputy District Governor of Lixia District, Jinan City; Wu Yantao, Party Secretary of the university ; and Duan Peiyong, President of the university .

Wu Yantao, on behalf of the university , welcomed Professor Konstantin S. Novoselovand gave a brief introduction to the institution's basic profile, highlighting its strengths and achievements in high-level platform development, scientific innovation, technology transfer, and international collaboration. Wu emphasized that this visit presents an opportunity to deepen practical cooperation between both sides in joint research, shared outcomes, and talent cultivation, aiming to achieve fruitful results in the field of two-dimensional functional materials.

Konstantin S. Novoselov highly praised the university's  accomplishments in scientific innovation, platform construction, and international collaboration. He noted that the institution has outstanding research expertise and industrial transformation capabilities in energy and power engineering as well as two-dimensional materials, expressing great anticipation for future collaborative outcomes.

Wang Zhongwei expressed gratitude to Professor Konstantin S. Novoselovfor his attention and support toward Shandong Province and Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences). He stated that the provincial Department of Science and Technology will actively support the professor’s practical collaboration with the university , promote technological innovation andachievement transformation in the field of two-dimensional materials, and work closely with relevant departments at provincial, municipal, and district levels to provide strong service and logistical support for their partnership.

Under the witness of the leaders present at the meeting, Wu Yantao presented the honorary professorship certificate to Konstantin S. Novoselov, and Director Liu Zhigang of the Energy Science Department signed a cooperation agreement with Konstantin S. Novoselov.

During the visit, Professor Konstantin S. Novoselov delivered a special academic report titled "Frontier Applications of Two-Dimensional Materials" to the teachers and students of the university . Based on his extensive research experience in two-dimensional materials such as graphene, he shared the latest research progress and industrial implementation paths of two-dimensional atomic crystal materials. With a cutting-edge academic perspective, profound academic accumulation and rigorous research spirit, he delivered an excellent academic report to the teachers and students.

After the report session concluded, Professor Konstantin S. Novoselovvisited several research laboratories within the Energy Department, including those focusing on advanced energy efficiency, biomass energy, energy storage, and energy catalysis. He gained a comprehensive understanding of the existing research facilities and achieved research results in the department's areas such as the thermal physics of two-dimensional materials and green energy conversion. He also provided targeted guidance and suggestions for the subsequent joint platform establishment and equipment configuration optimization of the laboratories.
